Mr. T

Born Laurence Tureaud in Illinois Chicago, Mr. T has become a well known actor, motivational speaker, wrestler and television personality. He is known by his distinctive Mandinka warrior hairstyle, gold chains, and all-round tough guy image.
Mr. T was one of twelve children and grew up in one of the poorest areas of the USA. While in High school he studied martial arts, played football, and wrestled; becoming the city-wide wrestling champion two years in a row. He won a football scholarship to Prairie View A&M University, but was expelled after his first year. Mr. T then joined the United States Army and served in the Military Police Corps. In 1975 he was awarded a letter of recommendation and promoted to squad leader.
After leaving the army Mr. T begun working as a bouncer. It was in this line of work that he adopted his Mr. T person and begun wearing gold chains. From here he eventually became a bodyguard, and as his reputation grew he ended up protecting a number of high profile clients.
In 1980, Sylvester Stallone spotted Mr. T taking part in NBC's America's Toughest Bouncer, and thus Mr. T landed his first acting role in Rocky III. This was the film which saw the creation of his catchphrase "I pity the fool". He then went on to act in Penitentiary 2 before landing his most famous role, B.A. Baracus in the television show the A-Team. In 1983 a cartoon called Mister T which stared Mr. T himself was also released and ran for 30 episodes. 1983 also saw Mr. T cast in the cult classic DC Cab.
Mr. T went on to act in many other movies, and has done many ads for Comcast. He is also well known for the popular "Get Some Nuts" Snicker ads that aired in 2007 in the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. As well as acting, Mr. T is also a professional wrestler. He began his wrestling career in 1985, and became Hulk Hogan's tag team partner in the WWF Wrestlemania.
